Interactive Return were present at the recent Search Engine Strategies Conference in New York for the announcement of Yahoo/Overture's newest paid inclusion service Site Match.
Site Match offers online businesses inclusion in the main search results pages on Yahoo!, AltaVista, AlltheWeb, Fast and more. Web sites are reviewed for quality and submitted to a database that provides search results to the above engines and directories. These listings are included in relevant search results, providing businesses with a source of targeted customer leads.
Site Match guarantees the submitted URLs will be crawled every 48 hours. It does not guarantee rankings within the search results, but it does guarantee that urls will get spidered increasing the likelihood of any recent content changes getting indexed.
Who will benefit from using Site Match?
- Web Sites that have harder to find content or those sites with information that cannot currently be crawled by any search engine (e.g. sites with dynamic content, such as extensive product catalogs)
- Sites seeking more control over the content that is discovered
- Sites seeking more control over how the content is presented
- Dynamic sites seeking faster refresh rates
- Sites that are looking for more user data and clearer, more consistent interaction with the search engine
Who won't benefit from the Site Match?
- Web Sites that have high visibility within the organic listings
- Web Sites who are consistently satisfied with when and how that content is discovered and presented
- Web Sites with static content thus the faster refresh is of less value to you
- Web Sites with no need for more in depth user data on search performance
