Broadband Fuels Global Media Market

According to a report by PricewaterhouseCoopers, total worldwide entertainment spending by consumers will reach $1.8 trillion in 2010, with consumer spending on online and wireless media projected to triple to reach $67 billion in 2010. Soccer Fans Kick Up Internet Traffic

Hundreds of thousands of rabid soccer fans travelled to Germany for World Cup thrills, but millions around the world are going online to join in the excitement. After recording 5.7 million visitors to the official 2006 FIFA World Cup site hosted by Yahoo! in the months leading up to the World Cup, comScore reported that on the opening day of the tournament, more than five million unique visitors went to the site.
