Web Developer
As the Internet expands as a medium for the delivery of dynamic content, the need to deliver this content as quickly as possible becomes a concern. Using traditional design methods this content would have to be passed to a web development team for implementation. Content Management Systems remove this problem by providing a user the ability to change, add or delete web site content through a simple user interface. The need to understand HTML, or have even heard of it now becomes irrelevant.
CMS's vary in complexity from simple user input forms to complex web development suites that allow a non technical user the ability to build a web page within a recognisable interface. By using a CMS a company should be able to maintain their own website with a certain level of functionality, without the need for costly redevelopment and technical maintenance, making CMS's a cost effective solution should your site require constant updating.
In addition to providing the user a simple and easy way to maintain their own site, CMS's also offer a huge advantage in terms of where a web site can be updated! Traditional web development would require a web authoring package and a means off accessing the web server where your site resides. By using a CMS the only tools you require are a web browser, usually not to hard to find these days!
CMS's offer non technical users the ability to update a web site from anywhere in the world using only a web browser; the advantages of such a system speak for themselves.
